CTOnews.com, May 28 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk recently revealed on social media the timetable for the next flight test of Starship. The starship is currently the largest rocket in the world, and its goal is to send humans to Mars and the moon.

Musk revealed the information in response to a video released by SpaceX showing the starship's first suborbital flight last month. He said SpaceX would upgrade the launch pad within a month, and then test the rocket on the launch pad for another month, followed by a second flight test of the starship.

CTOnews.com noted that Musk's statement was consistent with previous claims made by NASA and FCC. NASA Director Bill Nelson (Bill Nelson) revealed in congressional testimony last month that SpaceX had told him that the next flight test would take at least two months. Earlier this month, SpaceX submitted a document to FCC requesting permission to communicate with the rocket during Starship Flight Test 2. The document also sets out a timetable, starting from the 15th of next month.

If all goes well, the starship may make a second suborbital flight at the end of July and try to achieve a soft landing. Starship is a key project of SpaceX, which consists of two parts: a super-heavy rocket booster and a reusable capsule. It can carry more than 100 tons of payloads and can transport people and materials back and forth between the Earth, the Moon and Mars. NASA has chosen starships as part of its Human Lunar Landing system (HLS) program, which aims to return American astronauts to the moon.
