Apple launched the "my Photo Stream" free service in 2011, which allows users to upload up to 1000 images from the past 30 days to the iCloud platform, which can be accessed later on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC.

My Photo Stream uploads your most recent photos (except live photos) so that you can view and import them on all your devices. Photos will be stored in my Photo Stream for 30 days. ICloud Photo will upload all your photos and videos to iCloud and keep them up-to-date on all your devices.

If you open both my Photo Stream and iCloud Photo on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, photos taken with the appropriate device will be uploaded to both iCloud Photo and my Photo Stream.

If you use the same Apple ID on another device that only opens my Photo Stream, the photos you take on that device will only be uploaded to my Photo Stream. These photos will not appear on any device that only enables iCloud photos.
