CTOnews.com, May 26, according to the latest data released by market research agency IDC, the global electric vehicle scale is about to break through 11 million vehicles in 2022 with a penetration rate of 14%.

China's electric vehicle market, driven by improved supply, high oil prices, government subsidies and car companies' promotions, reached nearly 7 million vehicles in 2022, with a penetration rate of 31.3%.

In 2022, the top three in the world were BYD, Tesla and SAIC GM Wuling (SAIC-GM Wuling), accounting for 36.11% of the market.

In the Chinese market, the top three are BYD, SAIC and Tesla, accounting for 53 per cent of the market.

CTOnews.com note: among the top 10 companies in China's electric car market in 2022, with the exception of Stella, who ranks third with a market share of 10.3%, all are local brands.
