Beijing time on May 25,2023, the world's leading consumer AR glasses brand Nreal announced the adoption of XREAL as a new brand name, and launched a number of product upgrades. The brand name change is for global expansion, which also means that XREAL will usher in a new stage of development.

Since its commercialization in 2019, XREAL has sold more than 170,000 products worldwide and has long been a bestseller for Amazon USA, Amazon Japan and China. With the popularity and customer base rapidly increasing globally, Epic Games believes that Nreal's brand name is too close to its virtual engine "Unreal" trademark, although Nreal officials do not have this doubt, but in order to avoid any degree of confusion, we decided to officially change the name XREAL.

XREAL spatial screen leads digital information spatial upgrade

The phased progress of commercialization dimension mainly benefits from XREAL's deep cultivation in AR technology and product end in the past six years, among which, the most worth mentioning is the core technical asset-XREAL space screen created by XREAL Light and XREAL Air consumer terminal products through R & D accumulation at optical and algorithm levels. XREAL Space Screen is the general term for virtual screens generated by XREAL glasses and different terminals. Up to now, XREAL space screen has been adapted to Android phones and Mac computers successively through XREAL App and Nebula for Mac software, and more terminals will be connected in the future by means of software and hardware conversion.

XREAL is about to launch several product upgrades

At the same time of brand upgrade, XREAL also announced a number of product heavy upgrade plans. Among them, it is expected that at the end of June, XREAL Air glasses will support 120Hz refresh rate (2D mode aerial projection) and 90Hz refresh rate (3D mode AR space) by firmware upgrade, at which time all XREAL Air users can feel the smoother and more stable appearance brought by high refresh rate by connecting appropriate terminal devices.

At the end of 2022, XREAL launched the Beta version of Nebula for Mac, a hard-soft solution that provides three virtual screens that can be hovered for Mac computers with M1 / M2 chips, so that users can work efficiently or entertain anytime and anywhere. Nebula for Windows beta version has also been completed for Windows users needs, will soon launch Nebula for Windows Beta version to users; for the use of Steamdeck game console scene, XREAL will also launch Nebula software for SteamOS, so that Steam Deck when connected to XREAL Air, you can get intelligent 3DoF space screen experience.
