Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Brother Black fly's left hand, Xiao Zhan cut, West window old clues delivery! Beijing, May 26 (Xinhua) A Tesla whistleblower leaked 100GB data to the German daily Business Daily, including thousands of customer complaints that raised serious concerns about the safety of Tesla's fully autonomous driving (FSD) function.

The data, allegedly from Tesla's IT system, cover complaints reported by Tesla owners in the United States, Europe and Asia, covering the period from 2015 to March 2022. During this period, Tesla owners reported more than 2400 automatic acceleration problems and 1500 braking problems, including 139 reports of "accidental emergency braking" and 383 reports of "ghost brakes" caused by erroneous collision warnings, according to the Business Daily.

Some of the complaints mentioned by the Business Daily include descriptions of how the car "brakes or accelerates suddenly". Although some owners took control of the vehicle safely, others "fell into a ditch, hit a wall, or crashed into an oncoming vehicle," the report said. "

The documents obtained by the Business Daily also outlined Tesla's policy in responding to problems encountered by customers, indicating that Tesla likes to keep his vehicle data secret. Here are some of the policies described by the Business Daily:

For each incident, Tesla set the key points of "technical review." Employees who regularly enter this review into the system have made it clear that the report is "for internal use only". Each entry also contains bold comments indicating that the information, if any, can only be "verbally delivered to the customer".

Tesla said: "do not copy and paste the following report into email, text message or voicemail to customers." Vehicle data shall not be released to the public without permission. If it is "impossible to stop the intervention of the lawyer", it must be recorded.

The leaked documents also contain forms of the names of more than 100000 former and current employees, including the social security number of Tesla CEO Musk, as well as private email addresses, phone numbers, employee salaries, customer bank details and production secrets, the report said.

Tesla asked to delete data according to a note by Sebastian Matthes, editor-in-chief of Business Daily, the newspaper's editorial team asked Tesla several questions about the whistleblower data he received.

Tesla did not answer their questions, but "asked to delete the data and talked about data theft," Matisse said. It is still unclear who provided the leaked information to the Business Daily, but Matisse pointed out that the newspaper got the information from "several informants".

This is not the first time someone has raised concerns about Tesla FSD. Tesla's FSD function supports all the functions of Tesla Auto-assisted driving (Autopilot) and enhanced Autopilot, including automatic lane change, automatic steering, automatic parking and so on. Despite these concerns, Tesla made FSD beta available to everyone in November last year.

In January, after Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) said on Twitter that it would provide users with the option to turn off FSD "steering wheel reminders", the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating Tesla's FSD system. About a month later, the agency thought the feature was at risk of collision, causing Tesla to recall 362758 cars equipped with FSD and suspend the installation of FSD.
