Officials say the XF8mmF3.5 R WR is an ultra-wide-angle (UWA) fixed-focus lens with a focal length of 8mm (equivalent to the 12mm focal length in 35mm format), making it one of the most widely viewed lenses in the Fuji film XF series.

The lens has a diagonal angle of 121 degrees and a horizontal angle of 112 degrees. Although human vision has a wide-angle field of vision, the effective field of view of the observable area that human beings can see clearly is limited, only about 60 degrees. The ultra-wide-angle 8mm lens (equivalent to 12mm focal length in 35mm format) can capture information about twice the effective field of view, beyond the range of human vision. The lens uses the optical design that Fuji Film is proud of and can achieve edge-to-edge visual clarity. Ultra-wide-angle lenses can show vast amounts of complex details, such as branches and leaves in the wilderness, and decorative details of magnificent cathedrals or temples. The lens is compact and easy to carry, allowing users to comfortably immerse themselves in the world of ultra-wide-angle photography.

The XF8mmF3.5 R WR is 52.8mm in length and 215g in weight. As an ultra-wide-angle lens, it has the aperture size of a general-purpose filter of 62mm.
