CTOnews.com, May 24 (Xinhua)-- Samsung plans to launch the first mold product (mold product) for Galaxy Z Fold 5 phones this week, two weeks earlier than last year, according to South Korean media The Elec.

The biggest highlight of this mold product is the use of water drop hinge design, if the relevant performance meets internal standards, it is expected to enter small-scale trial production at the end of June / early July.

It is reported that Samsung has begun to mass-produce some parts for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 mobile phones, which should be those parts that have little impact on the overall design adjustment.

After the launch of the mold product, Galaxy Z Fold 5's droplet hinge design still needs to go through the stages of development verification (PVR), mass production approval (PRA) and transportation approval (SRA), and the above tests are expected to be completed by the end of June at the earliest. After verifying the development, we will enter the mass production approval stage and begin mass production.

Samsung plans to test the reliability of droplet hinges in harsh conditions to ensure that there are no serious problems when delivered to users.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5's droplet hinge increases the space taken up by the shaft, which may lead to a slight reduction in battery capacity or increase the thickness of some products.
