In the telecommunications business, the growth rate of fixed Internet broadband business revenue slowed slightly. From January to April, the revenue from Internet broadband services completed by the three basic telecommunications enterprises was 84.65 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 14.9 percent of the telecom business revenue, an increase of 0.1 percent over the first quarter, and driving an increase of 0.9 percent in telecom business revenue.

Revenue from mobile data traffic is the same as the same period last year. From January to April, the three basic telecommunications enterprises completed 219.1 billion yuan in mobile data traffic business revenue, basically the same as the same period last year, accounting for 38.4% of the telecom business revenue.

Revenue from emerging businesses maintained a rapid growth trend. The three basic telecommunications enterprises actively developed emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data center, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of things. From January to April, the total business income was 125 billion yuan, an increase of 22.3% over the same period last year, accounting for 21.9% of the telecom business revenue, driving the growth of telecom business revenue by 4.3%. Among them, the revenue of cloud computing and big data increased by 50.7% and 45.4% respectively compared with the same period last year, and the business revenue of the Internet of things increased by 26.1%.

By the end of April, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications enterprises had reached 608 million, a net increase of 18.11 million over the end of last year. Among them, the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with 100Mbps access rates and above reached 572 million, accounting for 94.1 percent of the total users. The number of fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 1000Mbps and above reached 115 million, accounting for 19 percent of the total users, a net increase of 23.54 million over the end of last year. Driven by the continuous growth of high-speed users, the average access bandwidth per household reached 397.2Mbps per household, an increase of 28.6% over the same period last year.

By the end of April, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications enterprises had reached 1.707 billion, a net increase of 23.36 million over the end of last year. Of these, 5G mobile phone users reached 634 million, a net increase of 73.08 million over the end of last year, accounting for 37.1 percent of mobile phone users and an increase of 3.8 percentage points over the end of last year.
