CTOnews.com May 24, NetEase recently set up a new studio overseas, Bad Brain Games, located in Toronto, Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec, which is currently developing a new story-driven action adventure game.

The studio is led by Sean Crooks, the producer of "watchdog: legion" and "Storm: San Francisco". NetEase said they have recruited a team of senior developers who have participated in games such as the watchdog trilogy, isolated Island 2, Storm: San Francisco, the son of Light, full Dance, Cell Division: guilt, Cell Division: blacklist and Battlefield.

NetEase Montreal Studio was founded in 2019 and recently hired Jonathan Morin, the creative director of the first two watchdog games. In Europe, NetEase also bought Quantic Dream, the developer of rainstorm. Earlier, NetEase bought Grassshopper Manufacture, the developer of "the end of Heroes" in 2021. In addition, NetEase also owns Nagoshi Studio, a subsidiary wholly owned by NetEase and founded by the founder of Rulong, Yue Yueyang, which specializes in developing high-end games.
