CTOnews.com, May 23 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft announced at the Build conference on Tuesday that its artificial intelligence assistant Microsoft 365Copilot will support plug-ins, adding new features to the assistant integrated into the Microsoft 365productivity software suite to meet the specific needs of users.

Rajesh Jha, executive vice president of Microsoft, introduced in a blog post that there will be three types of Microsoft 365 Copilot plug-ins: plug-ins that leverage OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, Teams message extensions, and Power Platform connectors. The preemptive experience program will launch more than 50 plug-ins, including products from Atlassian and Adobe. When the plug-in is officially launched, Microsoft says thousands will be available.

This is Microsoft's latest move to make its artificial intelligence tools more flexible and suitable for more people, and may also be an important way to distinguish the company from its competitors. CTOnews.com noted that Google also has its own productivity-focused artificial intelligence tool called Duet AI, but it is not widely available and does not support plug-ins. Copilot is not the only app that supports plug-ins. Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that plug-ins will appear in Bing AI chat. OpenAI has recently added plug-in support for ChatGPT, and these plug-ins will support interoperability.
