CTOnews.com, May 23 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- Samsung unveiled a revolutionary 12.4in curly OLED panel at the annual display week trade show in Los Angeles.

This is not the first time we have seen a curly panel, but Samsung's is by far the largest and can be rolled into a small scroll. The panel can be expanded from 49mm to 254.4 mm, which means it can be expanded five times, while currently a similar screen can only be expanded to three times its original size. Samsung display says it does this by using an O-axis that looks like a scroll, which the company calls Rollable Flex, which can be rolled up completely.

In addition to the Rollable Flex, Samsung has also introduced a Flex In & Out OLED panel that can bend in two directions, rather than folding in one direction as in current technologies, such as Samsung's Galaxy Flip4 and Fold4.

In addition, CTOnews.com reported earlier that Samsung also launched the world's first OLED panel with integrated fingerprint recognition and heart rate sensors, which allows you to unlock your phone by touching anywhere on the screen with your fingers. The technology embeds photosensitive organic photodiodes (OPD) into the panel itself and reads blood pressure, heart rate and pressure levels by monitoring the contraction and relaxation of blood vessels inside the finger.
