CTOnews.com May 23, WhatsApp officially announced that users can now edit messages that have been sent, from correcting simple spelling mistakes to adding more to the message.

CTOnews.com Note: to edit a sent message, the user can simply press the message for a long time and then select "Edit" from the menu. Messages can be edited within 15 minutes after they are sent.

The word "edited" appears next to the edited message so that the recipient can know that the user has changed the message, but they cannot see the editing record. Like all personal messages, media files, and calls, users' messages and their editing records are protected by end-to-end encryption.

WhatsApp said the feature is now being rolled out around the world and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.
