CTOnews.com May 23 news, according to the latest report released by market research agency Omdia, the largest number of LCD panels purchased in the first quarter of 2023 is still Samsung, accounting for 14% of the market. TCL and Hisense are not far behind, with a combined market share of 24 per cent. LG ranks fourth, with a much lower market share than Hisense.

Samsung and LG are now devoting more resources to QLED and OLED TVs, and most of the panels are produced and used by themselves. This means that Samsung and LG will reduce the number of models and shipments of LCD TVs year by year in the foreseeable future.

TCL and Hisense currently specialize in QLED and non-QLED TV markets, mainly providing entry-level and mid-range TVs, with more room for development in emerging markets such as India.
