Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com May 23, Samsung recently issued a press release saying that it ranked first with 32.1% of the global TV market share in the first quarter of 2023.

The press release is based on Omdia statistics. Samsung said it has further widened the gap with its competitors in the high-end and oversized TV market through multiple series such as Neo QLED, OLED and lifestyle, ranking first in the global TV market for 18 years in a row.

Samsung says it has a market share of 52.6% in North America and 60.7% in Europe. It retained the No. 1 position in 80 inches, with its new 98-inch product accounting for 43.9% of the market.

In high-end TV stalls worth more than $2500 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 17600 yuan), Samsung Electronics ranked first with a market share of 59.1%, up about 10 percentage points from 49.2% in the same period last year.

Sales of QLED TVs in the first quarter of 2023 were 3.73 million, up 13% from a year earlier and accounting for 8.0% of the entire TV market. Samsung sold 2.15 million TVs, accounting for 57.5 per cent.

Samsung began selling QLED TVs in the first quarter of 2017, with a cumulative sales of about 38 million units, making it the first choice in the high-end TV market.
