CTOnews.com May 23 news, Google issued a press release today, announcing the launch of Flood Hub in 80 countries and regions around the world, showing the estimated water level in each flood-prone area in the next seven days, and timely reminding local residents to do a good job in flood fighting and evacuation.

In addition to expanding Flood Hub coverage, Google also raised its flood forecast to seven days from the previous 48 hours to help individuals, governments and organizations carry out large-scale operations such as evacuation.

Yossi Matias, Google's vice president of engineering and research and head of crisis response, CTOnews.com translates as follows: "Google Flood Hub uses artificial intelligence to analyze a variety of publicly available data sources such as weather forecasts and satellite images to create a hydrological model (Hydrologic Model) and a submergence model (Inundation Model). The former is used to predict the amount of water in the river, and the latter is used to predict which areas will be affected.
