CTOnews.com May 23 news, according to foreign technology media TechCrunch reported that network security researchers recently spot-checked Amazon's hot Android TV set-top box devices, from which malware was found.

These hot-selling boxes usually use AllWinner and RockChip chips, and the malware is pre-installed on AllWinner T95Max, RockChip X12 Plus and RockChip X88 Pro 10.

The researchers found malware on firmware purchased for T95 set-top boxes, connected to a massive botnet. The botnet consists of thousands of other malware-infected Android TV boxes worldwide.

After a user purchases and uses such a set-top box, malware embedded in the firmware clicks ads in the background, creating revenue for attackers.
