Beijing, May 23 (Xinhua) Greg Brockmann, president of ChatGPT developer OpenAI, said on Monday that the company is testing how to gather broad opinions in decisions that affect its artificial intelligence (AI).

Maybe you should be able to participate in ChatGPT decisions in the future. On Monday, Goldman Sachs and angel investment firm SV Angel hosted the AI AI Forward event in San Francisco. At the event, Brockmann discussed how OpenAI seeks to regulate AI on a global scale.

In assessing the way forward for AI, Brockmann referred to Wikipedia and other practices. One of the AI regulatory models he previewed is similar to Wikipedia, which requires people with different views to work together to agree on Wikipedia entries. "We don't just sit there in Silicon Valley and think we can make these rules for everyone," he said of AI policy. "We are starting to think about democratic decision-making."

Another idea discussed by Brockmann is the idea detailed by OpenAI in Monday's blog post that governments around the world should coordinate to ensure the safe development of AI. He and OpenAI say agencies such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) can impose restrictions on AI deployment, review compliance with safety standards and track the use of math. Another suggestion is to reach a global agreement to limit the annual growth of frontier AI capacity, or to create a global joint project in which major governments can participate.
