CTOnews.com, May 22, according to complaints from users on Reddit and MacRumors forums, since the update to watchOS 9.5, some Apple Apple Watch screens have abnormal green tones when entering certain interfaces.

The green image on the left is almost all affected by the Apple Watch Series 8 and earlier models, and the earlier models are more serious. Users reported that the green tone mainly appeared when entering the password, opening the control center and the drop-down notification bar. According to most users, this problem is rarely reported in Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra.

There is speculation that Apple may have intentionally added the tone, but this seems unlikely because most users think the tone is ugly and out of tune with the rest of the watch's interface. Some users described it as a "washed-out LCD" screen, rather than the pure OLED black they are used to seeing.

It's not clear what caused the problem, but according to user feedback, the strange hue only appeared after last week's watchOS 9.5 update, suggesting it may be a software problem rather than a hardware-related one. Some people can make the tone disappear after restarting the watch, but some people don't have the same effect. Apple has fixed a similar iPhone screen color problem, which was also caused by a software error. If this is indeed a software problem, Apple should be able to fix it in future watchOS updates.
