(1) in the step of reducing saturation, we focus on using the HSL tool. HSL can adjust hue, saturation and brightness for different colors.

We can see from the photos shown earlier that the colors in the photos are not only low saturation, but also dark, and cool colors such as green and blue will shift to gray-green and gray-blue, so we can also follow this principle in the later operation. focus on adjusting cool colors and shadows.

In the material here, we mainly use the HSL tool to reduce the saturation and brightness of the cool color, hue adjustment can be based on personal preferences, to blue, for example, to the left to adjust the hue blue will shift to cyan, to the right will be purple, you can try each color hue adjustment.

The warm colors in the picture play a role of contrast, we can retain a small amount of warm colors to enhance the look and feel of the picture, or we can use the HSL tool to slightly increase its saturation.

If we feel that the saturation is not low enough, or if we want to reduce the saturation as a whole, we can basically adjust the saturation of the whole picture directly.

This tool can be thought of as an "overlay color". For example, if we select a color in the highlight adjustment section and then increase the saturation, then the light in the photo will be "obscured" by the color we have chosen, and the higher the saturation we increase, the more obvious the effect.

So if we want to improve the feeling of "gray" in the picture, we can choose a darker, higher grayscale color "cover" in the picture.

Here we choose a bluish gray, and then appropriately increase the saturation to "obscure" it in the shadow of the picture.

(3) the sense of air is similar to the feeling in the dark part of the film photo: there is no dead black, the dark part is gray, and there is a feeling of particles.

The curve tool controls the dark part, the middle tone, and the light part in turn from left to right. When we pull up the punctuation of the dark part on the left, we can obviously see that the dark part of the picture becomes a little brighter and shows a faint gray. This is the "sense of air." it's a little retro.

Then we can use the curve to pull an "S" shape to enhance the contrast and texture.

At this point, our late operation is almost complete, and if we want to enhance the atmosphere, we can also add a little dark corner to the effects panel.
