Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
San Francisco, USA, where Twitter is based, has decided to launch a new investigation into Musk's plans to transform its headquarters after six former employees sued Twitter and Elon Musk, according to news in the morning of May 22.
Earlier, the six former employees accused Musk and Twitter of fraud, violation of contract and labor rights laws, non-payment of severance pay, and described Musk's plan to build a "Twitter hotel" in his "hard core" vision.
Last October, Musk converted some office space into bedrooms after taking over Twitter, triggering an investigation by the San Francisco Bureau of Building Inspection (Department of Building Inspection). The city inspector ordered the company to designate the bedroom as a sleeping area properly. (related report: Twitter office changed to bedroom under regulatory investigation, Musk responded.)
On Friday, local time, Patrick Hannan, a spokesman for the city's building inspection department, said that in view of the previous lawsuit, the department would "file new complaints and investigate these new allegations."
Joseph Killian, one of Twitter's six former employees, was the company's global head of architectural design. He said in the lawsuit that he was told to make some changes to the bedroom layout of Musk's employees.
When city inspectors came to the company for their first investigation in December, "they expressed surprise and relief to Killian," the lawsuit said. "they said,'it's just furniture! we thought there would be a big change.'"
The transition team asked Killian not to disclose details of future plans during the inspection.
The complaint also said that Killian had raised concerns to the leadership about the danger that the door lock would not be opened automatically when the fire extinguishing system was activated, in violation of California's building code.
According to the lawsuit, Killian resigned shortly after refusing to install the lock because it was "life-threatening".
Twitter had no immediate comment.
