Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, May 21 (Xinhua) according to a recent survey conducted by automation software company UiPath, most employees (about 60%) believe that using artificial intelligence (AI)-driven automation solutions can relieve job burnout and significantly improve job satisfaction. In addition, 57 per cent of respondents said they had a more positive view of employers using business automation to support employees and simplify operations, reflecting their approval of this approach.
As the workload increased, 28% of respondents said they had taken on additional responsibilities as a result of layoffs or recruitment freezes. 29% of employees around the world have experienced job burnout. This has prompted people to rely more and more on AI tools to relieve stress.
These factors have led to the emergence of the so-called "automation generation"-a group of professionals regardless of age or demographics who proactively adopt automation and AI to enhance collaboration, stimulate creativity and increase productivity. These people are actively looking for technologies that can improve their professional and personal lives.
One of the main findings of the survey is that 31% of respondents said they had used business automation solutions in the workplace. The automation generation believes that they have the resources and support (87%) they need to perform their duties effectively. In addition, 83% of these employees believe that business automation solutions can effectively alleviate job burnout and improve job satisfaction.
"more than half of the respondents said they believed that automation could solve job burnout and improve job satisfaction, which clearly shows that AI-driven business automation technology has had a positive impact on business and technical personnel and helped them to spend less time on repetitive tasks and focus on more critical and interesting tasks." Said Brigette McInnis-Day, chief personnel officer of UiPath.
She stressed that this statement is supported by the fact that 80% of respondents who have used business automation solutions believe that these solutions enable them to perform their work more effectively. 79% have a more positive view of employers who implement business automation than employers who do not.
The survey shows that employees around the world are increasingly inclined to use automated and AI-driven tools to deal with trivial tasks. Specifically, respondents said they wanted automation to assist them with tasks such as data analysis (52 per cent), data entry / creation (50 per cent), IT / technical problem resolution (49 per cent) and report generation (48 per cent).
When asked about the causes of their job burnout and job fatigue, respondents cited overtime work (40%), pressure from managers and leadership (32%), and excessive commitment to tactical tasks (27%) as the main reasons.
"AI-driven automation is the solution to alleviate these major causes of job burnout, enabling employees to quickly and easily locate and analyze data while simplifying repetitive and time-consuming tasks." McInnis-Day said to VentureBeat.
In terms of automation tools affecting their work, respondents said they wanted more flexibility in the work environment (34%), time allocated to acquire new skills (32%), and time devoted to critical tasks (27%).
"unlike previously defined generation categories, the automated generation includes all age groups and demographic characteristics." McInnis-Day explains, "this is a group of professionals who embrace AI, using these technologies to achieve more collaboration, creativity and productivity, and to use these technologies to provide a more satisfying and positive workplace experience, enrich their personal lives and prevent them from feeling like robots as a whole. They reinvigorate and regain meaning in their search for work-and automation is helping them achieve that goal. "
CTOnews.com notes that, as expected, the survey shows that young workers are more receptive to these new technologies. The majority of respondents to Generation Z (69%), Millennium (63%) and Generation X (51%) firmly believe that automation has the potential to improve their performance.
"of the employees surveyed, 31% said they were already using business automation solutions (39% are millennials and 42% are Generation Z). In addition, 87% of the 31% respondents who have used business automation solutions believe they have the resources and support they need to do their work effectively." McInnis-Day added.
The survey, conducted in March 2023, collected online responses from 6460 executives around the world.
