CTOnews.com, May 21, Microsoft released an update to KB5026361 earlier this month to fix some security vulnerabilities in Windows 10. However, this update also seems to cause some problems. According to users of Reddit and Microsoft feedback Center, there are various problems with the Windows 10 system after installing the latest update.

One of the most common problems is the blue screen panic (BSoD), with the error code "PROCESS1 INITIALIZATION FAILED". According to a previous Microsoft article, this error code is related to Bootcat files. The article said the problem was caused by corrupted Bootcat.cache files or changes in size. Microsoft recommends using the Windows installation disk to boot and delete the Bootcat.cache file to resolve the problem. However, this article was originally intended for Windows 7 systems, so it is not clear whether it is applicable to Windows 10 systems. However, users of the Microsoft feedback Center said they successfully solved the problem by booting the Windows 10 installation image from a USB drive and manually starting the AMD RAID driver from a command prompt and then doing startup repair.

In addition, users have reported other problems, such as error code 0x800f0922 when installing updates, random system restarts, a series of pop-up error messages, update failures and crashes. Currently, Microsoft has not responded to these reports, so it does not know the exact cause of the problem or the scope of impact.

CTOnews.com recommends enabling system restore on the Windows installation disk (usually disk C) and creating a system restore point before installing the patch update on Tuesday, as well as before installing third-party software on the system.
