Thank you CTOnews.com netizen Mr. Aviation for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com May 20, Bloomberg reported that Tesla executives visited India this week to restart negotiations with India that have been deadlocked for a year, but Tesla avoided the topic of setting up an electric vehicle factory in India and did not make any actual commitments to India.

Bloomberg pointed out that Tesla's construction of a factory in India is currently only a feasibility study, not a formal corporate strategy. Tesla executives expressed concerns about tariffs on imported cars from India at the meeting, but the Indian government refused to give Tesla preferential treatment.

CTOnews.com has learned that Tesla's negotiations with India have been deadlocked for nearly a year. India insists Tesla can only sell Indian-made vehicles locally, and Tesla hopes to be exempted from tariffs or granted tariff preferences to test the Indian market reaction with imported vehicles. India does not want Tesla to import vehicles made by Shanghai super factories.
