Huawei's AppGallery now has its first large-scale navigation app, as well as the HERE WeGo map app. The app, which has recently entered Huawei's AppGallery, will fill the gaps left by traditional popular mapping apps.

For buyers who want to use Huawei's newer products, such as the P40 P40 Pro or Mate 30 Pro, things like HERE WeGo make phones with excellent hardware but insufficient software more useful.

Once known as a reliable competitor to Google Maps, but in the past it was dominated only by Windows-powered phones. First, because of the 800-pound Google Maps gorilla in the room, the previously owned "Here" has no appeal on Android.

Still, it's an excellent mapping app with full-featured offline navigation support. Compared to Google Maps, you can cache local areas and do some limited navigation. In contrast, HERE can go a step further and keep all offline navigation features the same as online navigation. How attractive this is to you depends on how often you find yourself without weaknesses or connections.

No doubt, as in the past, Huawei may prefer Google Maps (and other apps), and the trade ban with the Chinese company is gradually being lifted. For HERE, if Google didn't steal their thunder, visiting Huawei's huge user base could be an attraction.
