Manish Pravinkumar, senior adviser to Canalys, said:

Despite the economic challenges facing consumer spending, Samsung and Apple continue to boost their after-sales service, brand awareness and channel priorities, further boosting phone sales.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series strong sales, Galaxy A series decline year by year, still help Samsung increase market share.

Apple's year-on-year growth has benefited from partnerships with local retailers and operators in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, as well as strong popularity among the younger generation.

Samsung shipped 3.8 million units, down 5.3% from the same period last year, and its market share was 43%.

Apple shipped 1.3 million units, up 35.4% from the same period last year, and its market share was 15%.

Xiaomi shipped 1 million units, up 1.6% from the same period last year, and its market share was 11%.

The volume of audio shipments was 900000, down 35.0% from the same period last year, and its market share was 11%.

OPPO shipped 300000 units, down 31.9 per cent from a year earlier, with a market share of 4 per cent.
