CTOnews.com reported in April that Samsung Electronics has formed an internal team to assess the feasibility of changing the default search engine from Google to Bing on Android phones, Android tablets and other devices.

According to the latest report, Samsung has suspended the internal evaluation and learned from people familiar with the matter that Samsung did initially plan to consider replacing its default search engine, but after a brief evaluation, it was concluded that it was not appropriate to make a "significant" change now.

The report points out that most Samsung Android phone users like to install their own apps, such as using Chrome browsers instead of native browsers. Samsung decided to suspend the internal review on the grounds that changing the default search engine could affect other business dealings with Google.

Most of Samsung's mobile devices rely heavily on Google's Android operating system, which customizes its applications to be compatible with Samsung's collapsible screen smartphones. In addition, Google also bought Samsung's memory chips and used the company's contract chip manufacturing services.
