CTOnews.com Apple today released its first App Store transparency report, one of the changes Apple promised to make in a lawsuit settlement with developers in 2021.

In its settlement conditions, Apple promised to provide developers with data including the number of rejected apps, the number of banned developer accounts, the total number of current developer accounts, the number of apps removed from the App Store, and search queries and results.

CTOnews.com, based on this transparency report, summarizes the key information about the App Store in 2022 as follows:

There are currently 1783232 apps in the App Store.

A total of 6101913 applications were submitted last year.

1679694 apps were rejected for security, performance, design and legal reasons.

149378 apps violated a policy and 32009 apps were rejected for violating Design 4.0 and DPLA 3.2 Fraud specifications.

Under Apple's cooperation, developers modified 253466 models after being rejected.

186195 apps were removed for violating App Store policies.

The majority of apps removed from the App Store were games, followed by utilities, business and education.

Developers appealed a total of 18412 app deletions, while Apple restored only 616 developer accounts. Apple says appealed apps are often removed from the App Store for fraud or illegality, which is why the number of rejected appeals is so high.

There are currently 36974015 registered developers.

Apple banned 428487 developer accounts last year.

Apple banned 282036628 user accounts last year.

The App Store has an average of 656739889 visits per week.

The average number of downloads per week was 74,787,877.

Customer accounts search the App Store an average of 373211396 times per week.
