Once the cooling system of the data center is designed and installed, it is very important to carry out follow-up inspection in order to ensure the high performance of the system. More importantly, maintain a clean passage from the hot air discharged from the server to the return air pipe of the air conditioner. Many factors will reduce the operational efficiency and power density capacity of the existing cooling system. Therefore, we should pay attention to the following points in daily maintenance and management:

1. Conduct a "health check".

Check the total cooling capacity to ensure that the cooling needs of the IT equipment in the data center do not exceed the total cooling capacity.

Check that all fans and alarm devices are running properly to ensure that the filter is clean.

Check the condition of cooler and external condenser and primary cooling circuit.

Check the temperature of an important location in the data center channel.

Record the temperature at the air inlet at the bottom, middle, and top of each rack and compare it with the values recommended by the IT equipment manufacturer.

Check for rack gaps that may affect cooling performance (idle rack space without a bezel, empty blade slots without a bezel, unclosed cable openings) or excess cables. Install the baffle in the rack and implement the cable management system. Let the hot air from the bottom of the equipment return to the air inlet through the unused longitudinal space in the rack, so that there is no need for the equipment to heat up.

2. Start the maintenance system of the cooling system. A regular maintenance system should be implemented to meet the guidelines recommended by cooling equipment manufacturers. During the debugging of air conditioning, only attention is paid to the adjustment and measurement of the operating conditions of individual units, while the comprehensive energy efficiency adjustment of air conditioners in the joint operation of air conditioning units is neglected. the design of static simulation of final operation requires the air volume, external residual value and internal and external static pressure of each unit when N units are running at the same time.

3. Separate the high-density rack. If the high-density racks are closely clustered together, the cooling capacity of most cooling systems is insufficient. It is suggested that the construction department should cooperate with the business department, and the construction department should submit the results of the acceptance test to the business department as the overall guidance for planning the installation and use areas of each tenant. Provide differentiated services (individual communication cabinets with high power consumption should be prioritized in high static pressure areas in order to get higher-than-average cooling capacity).

4. formulate the specifications for the users of each data center computer room to put on the shelves. According to the design data and later rectification of each data center computer room, mandatory requirements such as the maximum power consumption of the rack, the maximum number of servers on the rack and the installation interval of the server in each computer room are clearly stipulated to guide business departments to develop users and ensure the security of the entire computer room.

5. Close the floor pores in time, remove the underground obstacles and close the floor gaps, open the air conditioning units in the corresponding area in time, and take the initiative to regularly test the temperature of the exhaust side of each cabinet in order to adjust the supply air volume and introversion of each cabinet. Timely adjust the air intake of each cabinet according to the dynamic situation of installation and disassembly. The adjustment of air conditioning system for existing equipment should be based on the data of total cooling capacity, total supply air volume and temperature.

6. The fan of the server rotates at a low speed as far as possible, so as to keep the cold air in the server for a long time and increase the temperature rise. It is best if the temperature rise can reach more than 13 ℃.

7. Modeling and computing intelligent heat dissipation system. Based on the theories of air conditioning engineering, computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, according to the design method of DCTA thermal model, the basic CFD (computer hydrodynamics) model of data center computer room is established by using relevant professional software such as Tileflow and Flovent. After activating the model, the CFD model is simulated and analyzed according to different layout scenes of data center, and the temperature field distribution map of data center in different scenes is obtained. And other related data results to guide the overall layout of the computer room.
