CTOnews.com, May 19, according to a list released today by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a patent for reel iPhone technology that can be reduced to half the size of the current iPhone when not in use.

The patent, called "Slide Extensible display", can be the same as the current iPhone in a fully expanded state, and can be shortened by half to the inside of the device without using it.

In the patent for the scroll iPhone, Apple says it will use flexible screens such as organic light-emitting diodes, which will be expanded to twice the size as needed.

The scroll iPhone is currently just a patent, and it's not clear whether Apple has any plans to commercialize it. CTOnews.com attaches the patent link 20230156939 here, which can be read by interested users.
