The court ordered Google to be more transparent in tracking operations and to set up a "tracking technology" page to describe its practices in more detail.

Despite the settlement, Google does not think it has acted improperly.

In November, Google paid $391.5 million (currently about 2.756 billion yuan) to settle similar disputes with 40 US states. Some states are dissatisfied and insist on taking Google to court. Last October, Arizona settled with Google for $85 million (currently about 598 million yuan).

Google responded to its settlement with Washington State with statements issued in the past when it reconciled with multiple states, which stressed that the company had addressed many of the concerns raised by regulators.
