Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen BOE Zhou Dongyu, Hello _ rabbit clue delivery! CTOnews.com, May 18, Bloomberg quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that the Group of Seven is strengthening the investment part of chip supply chain efforts, and Japan will use Micron's so-called 1 γ technology to make chips in Hiroshima.

Micron is said to be preparing to receive a financial subsidy of about 200 billion yen (CTOnews.com Note: about 10.26 billion yuan) from the Japanese government to help it produce next-generation memory chips in Japan, the latest move to strengthen domestic semiconductor production.

Micron will use the money to install ASML's EUV advanced chip manufacturing equipment at the Hiroshima plant, which will be used to produce DRAM chips, according to a person familiar with the matter with Pixabay.

People familiar with the matter spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement was not made public. The money is likely to be announced when Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida meets with a delegation of semiconductor industry executives, including Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, on Thursday. In addition to Meguiar, it also includes executives from seven major semiconductor companies, such as TSMC and Intel.

Meguiar 1 gamma manufacturing technology was originally scheduled to be launched sometime in 2024, but because Micron must reduce expenditure on new equipment and reduce DRAM bit shipments in fiscal years 2023 and 2024, it will have to slow down the growth rate of DRAM in its 1 β and 1 gamma manufacturing technology. The current 1 γ nm process has been postponed to 2025.
