CTOnews.com May 17 news, according to the latest survey by the US Consumer Intelligence Research Partnership (CIRP), this spring, 15% of new iPhone users in the United States are transferred from Android platform, which is the highest proportion in the past five years. This figure is 4 percentage points higher than the same period last year and 5 percentage points higher than 2020 and 2021.

Two percent of new iPhone buyers said they came from a "regular phone,""other" phone, or first-time iPhone owner, and 83 percent said they had owned an iPhone before.

According to CIRP, the last time Android changers accounted for 15% of new iPhone buyers was in 2018, and the highest number in the past nine years was 21% in 2016.

CIRP's previously released data also showed that the average iPhone selling price has reached nearly $1000 (CTOnews.com note: currently about 6980 yuan), setting a new record. CIRP analysts believe that this phenomenon shows that Apple is attracting more high-end users.

Apple CFO Luca Maestri also said in the second quarter of this year's earnings conference call,"In areas where we have low market share, we tend to attract more users from other platforms." This means that in many markets outside the u.s., the percentage of users switching from android to iPhone may be higher than 15%.
