This known issue was previously fixed by the Microsoft Defender antivirus and anti-malware platform update KB5007651 (version 1.0.2303.27001), but a new problem was found in the deployment of the update and the update is no longer being pushed to users.

Users affected by LSA false positives can be fixed according to the temporary solution at the top of this article, or wait for Microsoft to release subsequent patches.

Users need to disable Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection if they experience a blue screen error after installing version 1.0.2303.27001, or if some games or applications are restarted after installation.

The procedure is to click the "start" button, enter "Windows Security" and open it, select "device Security", then select "Core isolation", and then disable kernel mode hardware mandatory stack protection.

Client: Win11 Version 22H2 / Win11 Version 21H2

Servers: unaffected

Microsoft released a KB5007651 update (version 1.0.2302.21002) for Windows Defender in March, which will force users to install it.

Some users reported that after installing the update, Windows Security displayed "Local Security authority protection is off. Your device may be vulnerable" (local security agency protection has been turned off. Your device may be attacked.
