DS423 is equipped with Ruiyu RTD1619B chip and 2 GB DDR4 non-ECC memory, processor 4-core 1.7 GHz design, provides four hard disk bits, supports raw storage up to 72 TB, is compatible with 3.5 "SATA hard disk and 2.5" solid state disk, supports common file systems such as Btrfs and EXT4, DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system with Synology pre-installed, supports file self-repair and creates point-in-time snapshots.

In addition, the NAS provides two 1GbE RJ-45 ports, two USB 3.2mm Gen 1 interfaces, and two built-in 80mm fans with 90W power consumption and 20.6 dB (A) noise, measuring 184x168x230mm and heavy 2.21kg.
