Dear leaders, distinguished guests, good morning! Driven by 5G and other advanced technologies, we are moving towards a world of Smart Internet of people and everything. The trends of different industries and social development are driving the demand for 5G, AI, cloud computing and other advanced technologies, such as the expansion of 5G to the enterprise network, the scale of AI on the edge side, cars are becoming networked computers on wheels, and more flexible and agile factories of the future are also coming into our vision.
As one of the core technical elements of the digital transformation of the industry, 5G is constantly evolving and its functions continue to expand. At present, 3GPP Release 17, the third version of the global 5G standard, has been frozen, which represents the successful completion of the first phase of the evolution of 5G technology. Release 18 is under way, and 5G Advanced has launched a new round of 5G innovation.
Based on the existing 5G technology, 5G-Advanced will support more extended features, such as NR-Light for Internet of things terminals with lower complexity and expansion in more fields (also known as RedCap), enhanced industrial Internet of things, non-terrestrial network, etc., which will enable 5G to enter a wider range of industries and applications.
AI is another key technology developed in parallel with 5G. With the accelerated expansion of 5G, AI processing is expanding to the edge side. Qualcomm believes that the future artificial intelligence will be a hybrid AI architecture, and AI will work together on the cloud, edge cloud and terminal side to redistribute the computing and processing power of the entire system in the most efficient way and open up a large-scale change at the edge of the intelligent network connection.
The coordinated development of 5G and AI will help release each other's greater technological potential, and will jointly promote future innovation and accelerate the digital transformation of various industries.
Based on the vision of the Internet of everything, Qualcomm's technologies and products are at the intersection of key industry trends. With its deep accumulation in wireless connectivity, high-performance, low-power computing and terminal-side AI, Qualcomm has created a leading technology roadmap to extend advanced mobile technology to almost all types of terminals.
The coordinated development of 5G and terminal-side AI brings a new application experience for smartphones. In November last year, Qualcomm launched the second generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, bringing a number of pioneering features and breakthroughs to its flagship smartphones, such as the introduction of the world's first 5G AI modem, the world's first Wi-Fi 7 solution to support high-frequency multi-connection concurrency, the world's first cognitive image signal processor, and groundbreaking AI, gaming and imaging capabilities.
Since its release, the second generation Snapdragon 8 has become the preferred platform for 5G flagship terminals. At present, nearly 30 flagship models equipped with the second generation Snapdragon 8 have been on the market and have been well received by users.
Recently, generative AI has become a hot technology in the industry. During this year's MWC, Qualcomm demonstrated the first deployment of a "Stable Diffusion" generative AI model with more than 1 billion parameters on Android phones, generating a 512x512 pixel image in 15 seconds based on text prompts, with a latency comparable to that of the cloud. We believe that cutting-edge technologies such as edge-side AI are expected to open a new cycle of smartphone innovation and stimulate consumers' enthusiasm for new and replacement phones.
In order to better support the new round of 5G innovation, Qualcomm launched two new 5G modems and RF system chips in February this year. The Snapdragon X75 is the world's first 5G Advanced-ready modem and RF system, while introducing the second generation Qualcomm 5G AI suite to further break through the dimensions of network coverage, latency, energy efficiency and mobility. The Snapdragon X35 is the world's first 5G NR-Light modem and RF system, with excellent energy efficiency, excellent positioning accuracy and rich use cases such as smartwatches and entry-level Internet of things terminals.
Advanced technologies, such as 5G and AI, are also injecting new power into the automotive industry. In order to accelerate the realization of the future of intelligent Internet-connected cars, we have built the Snapdragon digital chassis, which covers four areas: car connection, cockpit, intelligent driving and car-to-cloud, to help automakers create new services and applications. With strong performance and many innovations, Snapdragon digital chassis has been favored by partners and recognized by consumers. Since 2021, the Snapdragon digital chassis has supported Chinese car brands to launch more than 90 models.
