Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com5, March 17 (Xinhua)-- V Society (Valve) has been sued by Immersion Corporation for its game hardware device, Steam Deck handset and Vibration feedback Technology (Index rumble).

CTOnews.com Inquiry learned that Immersion is a tactile feedback company that has purchased and developed a large number of patents on rumble technology, from which almost all large technology companies have been licensed or settled, including Sony and Microsoft. After the lawsuit and settlement, both Sony and Microsoft obtained the Immersion patent license. Apple, Google, Motorola and Fitbit also reached a settlement. Nintendo was not sued.

Now it accuses Society V of infringing its patents, including Steam Deck handset devices, Valve Index VR platforms, SteamVR software and games such as half-Life: Alyx. (there is no mention of V Club's outdated Steam handle, which also uses a lot of vibration feedback.)

Immersion seeks compensation for losses, royalties and a ban on the deployment, operation, maintenance, testing and use of alleged Steam Deck handset and VR devices. The company filed a lawsuit in the United States Federal Court and the Western District Court of Washington on May 15, citing patents 7336260, 8749507, 9430042, 9116546, 10627907, 10665067 and 11175738.

News agency V did not immediately respond. The Steam Deck handset, which has sold more than 1 million units, topped Steam's weekly best-selling list again last week.
