Canon said that since 2000, Canon has been committed to developing and manufacturing CMOS image sensors for Canon products. So far, Canon has successfully developed and manufactured new APS-H size CMOS image sensors with 250 million high resolution, 120 million high resolution CMOS image sensors, 19 megapixel global shutter CMOS image sensors and other high-quality products.

Canon's sensor products sold in the mainland of China market are mainly high-resolution product series and machine vision/monitoring product series, which can be divided into high-resolution sensor, global shutter sensor and general purpose sensor according to product type, covering 1/1.8 inch, 1/2.32 inch, 2/3 inch, 1 inch, APS-H, full frame and other different optical size.

Canon's new APS-H size CMOS image sensors LI8020SAC (color) and LI8020SAM (black and white) capture images with a resolution of approximately 250 million pixels, allowing images to be captured over a larger area while retaining fine detail throughout the image. Both CMOS image sensors also feature miniaturized circuitry and enhanced signal processing technology that delivers high pixel readout speeds of approximately 1.25 billion pixels per second, allowing the sensors to capture high-resolution images at approximately 5 fps during full-pixel readout periods, significantly reducing signal delay problems caused by increased pixel count and signal volume. Both products also feature ROI (Region of Interest), which allows users to read sensor signals from any area, reducing signal readings and capturing images at higher frame rates. With this feature, you can shoot 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels) at 24 fps, 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) at 30 fps, and Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 60 fps.

Canon's other high-resolution CMOS image sensor product-LI8010SA sensor uses APS-H format (29.22mm x 20.20mm), pixel size of 2.2um, resolution up to 120 million pixels, even when using image trimming or electronic zoom can also obtain high-resolution images, sensor has 28 kinds of digital output, so can achieve frame rate 9.4 fps full resolution.
