CTOnews.com, May 16 (Xinhua) according to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, smartphone shipments in the five major markets in Southeast Asia fell 13% in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the same period last year. Among the top five manufacturers, Apple was the only one with positive growth, with an increase of 18%.

The survey report shows that five Southeast Asian markets, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia, are affected by a combination of weak demand and seasonal decline, down 7%, 1%, 10%, 30% and 29% respectively from a year earlier.

Samsung fell 16% from a year earlier, and its market share fell from 22% to 21%.

OPPO fell 10% year-on-year, increasing market share from 19% to 20%

Vivo fell 26% year-on-year, and market share fell from 17% to 14%

Xiaomi fell 13% year-on-year, and its market share remained 14%.

Realme fell 5% year-on-year, while market share increased from 11% to 12%.
