According to Moore's Law is Dead, AMD has at least five series of sku:Turin, Turin-X, Turin-Dense, Turin AI and Sorano for EPYC servers, all using Zen5 and Zen 5C cores. (CTOnews.com Note: Zen 5C has the same architecture as Zen5, but less frequently).

According to reports, AMD EPYC Turin and Turn-X will have up to 128 Zen 5 cores and 256 threads, and based on 4nm technology, TDP can be up to 500W.

In the previous leak, the AMD EPYC Turin chip showed that it would have the same L2 and L3 cache as Zen 4, with only a small upgrade to the L1 cache. These chips will be put into production in the first quarter of 2024 and will adopt the TSMC 4nm process node.

The AMD EPYC Turin-X will be equipped with 3D V-Cache, each CCD will be equipped with 64MB 3D V-Cache, with a total of 16 CCD and 1024MB, and will also have a standard 512MB L3 cache with a L3 cache capacity of 1536 MB. If you add in the L2 cache of 1 MB or 128 MB per kernel, the total cache can reach 1664 MB, which is about 33% higher than the upcoming Genoa-X CPU series.

The other model, AMD EPYC Turin Dense (unofficial name) and Turin AI, will have up to 192 Zen 5C cores, based on TSMC's 3nm process and designed to replace Bergamo.

These chips will have up to 500W TDP, and they are expected to go into production before the standard Turin chip. MLID said this was due to AMD's accelerated direct competition with Intel Sierra Forest 144core chips, which are expected to be launched at the same time around the first half of 2024.

There is also a Turin Dense auxiliary chip called Turin AI, which is expected to use the same Zen 5C core, but with a small chip designed specifically for AI. There are few details about this particular SKU, but Xilinx IP is expected to be used.

At present, AMD takes artificial intelligence as its first strategic focus, and it makes sense to integrate more artificial intelligence dedicated hardware for customers in need in its EPYC CPU.

Finally, there is a product called Sorano, which should be the successor to AMD Siena CPU.

The current AMD EPYC 8004 "Siena" series is aimed at mainstream-level low-cost / low-TCO / low-power platforms (called SP6) and is based on the Zen 4amp 4C core. It has 6-channel memory support and 96 PCIe Gen 5 interconnects. The chips, which will retain 64 cores and 225W TDP designs, are expected to go into production in the second half of 2024 and go on sale sometime in 2025.
