CTOnews.com May 16 news, According to the China Meteorological Administration, China's first low-inclination orbital precipitation measurement satellite-Fengyun-3 G star (precipitation star) The first set of maps was officially released yesterday.

The six major payloads of Fengyun-3G satellite include 4 operational payloads such as precipitation measurement radar, microwave imager (precipitation type), medium resolution spectral imager (precipitation type) and global navigation satellite occultation detector (GNS-II), and 2 experimental payloads such as short-wave infrared polarization multi-angle imager and high-precision calibrator.

The monitoring images of the six major loads of Fengyun-3 G released this time show the three-dimensional structure of precipitation at different levels, which is conducive to better monitoring and forecasting disastrous precipitation systems.

Fengyun-3G satellite is the first low-orbit non-sun synchronous inclined orbit meteorological satellite in China, and also the first and third active precipitation measurement satellite in China and the world.

The satellite is equipped with active precipitation measurement radar, microwave imager, medium resolution spectral imager and global navigation satellite occultation detector 4 sets/set of operational loads, which will fill the gap of domestic precipitation three-dimensional tomography data. So far, China has successfully launched a total of 20 meteorological satellites of "two generations and four types."

▲ Source: Fengyun-3G satellite of National Satellite Meteorological Center is loaded with 4 operational loads and 2 experimental loads, which can provide three-dimensional precipitation structure information in the middle and low latitudes of the world. The follow-up National Satellite Meteorological Center will carry out in-orbit tests including payload performance and data quality, calibration, positioning, inversion, etc., fully verify the satellite-ground integration indicators of satellite platform and payload, and will also carry out special application system tests.
