CTOnews.com May 15 news, Apple is expected to release the iPhone 15 series of new mobile phones in September this year, now new reports say that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be assembled in India, Tata Group has won the iPhone 15 series assembly order, and distribution rights in the country.

According to a new TrendForce report, Tata Group will assemble a small portion of iPhone 15 series smartphones in India, where the group recently acquired Wistron, so it now owns the iPhone production line. Tata Group will be the new contract partner for iPhone manufacturing in India and Apple's fourth manufacturer after Foxconn, Pegatron and Lucent.

According to the report, Tata Group will assemble 5% of Apple's iPhone 15 series phones, while Foxconn, Lucent Precision and Pegatron will still occupy the main share. Foxconn will still own 70% of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max assembly orders, while iPhone 15 Plus orders will account for 60%.

Lixun Precision will receive 25% of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max orders; Pegatron will receive 35% of iPhone 15 Plus orders and 30% of iPhone 15 Pro orders. Finally, Tata Group will not assemble the iPhone 15 Pro line of phones (CTOnews.com note: expected to include the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max).
