According to CTOnews.com news on May 14, Asustek recently released its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2023, with revenue of NT $102.376 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 23.137 billion yuan), compared with 117.359 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 26.523 billion yuan) in the last fiscal quarter and 1279.62 New Taiwan dollars (currently about 289.19 billion yuan) in the same period last year.

GAAP posted a net loss of NT $1.682 billion (currently about NT $380 million), or NT $2.30 per diluted share (currently about RMB0.52), compared with a profit of NT $10.43 billion (currently about NT $2.357 billion) in the same period last year, or NT $14 (currently about NT $3.164) per diluted net profit per share. CTOnews.com learned that it was the first consecutive quarterly net loss in Asustek's 34-year history, compared with a net loss of NT $3.823 billion (currently about Rmb864 million) in the previous quarter.

Asustek said its first-quarter operating performance was in line with expectations. Asustek warned at its financial meeting at the beginning of the year that it would lose money in the first quarter of this year, but that the loss would be lower than in the fourth quarter of last year. Looking ahead to the second quarter, Asustek expects PC revenue to grow 20 per cent month-on-month, while parts business will fall 5 per cent from a month earlier.
