The new Fairbuds XL wireless headset has a modular design and consists of 11 parts, so the headset is easy to disassemble and repair; changing ear pads is simple or even does not require tools; and once the battery capacity starts to decline (the battery will drop to 80% after 500 charging cycles), users can also replace the battery.

Avoiding e-waste is part of Fairphone's mission, and the other part is responsible procurement of materials and components. Fairbuds XL is made of 100% recycled aluminum and 80% recycled plastic, equipped with 100% recycled textile bags, and even internal electronics use 100% recycled tin solder paste.

In configuration, the Fairbuds XL wireless headset uses a 40mm driver unit and supports Bluetooth 5.1, with aptX HD (as well as AAC and SBC), and multipoint connectivity; it can also be used in wired mode through the USB-C port, although there is no 3.5mm Jack (nor do the latest Fairphone smartphones).

The Fairbuds XL wireless headset supports a replaceable 800mAh battery for 26 hours with active noise reduction enabled and 30 hours with noise reduction off; users can use the Fairbuds application for Android and iOS to adjust the Fairbuds XL headset settings.

The Fairbuds XL wireless headset weighs 330g and supports IP54 dustproof and anti-spatter grade. It adopts foldable design and is easy to transport.

Fairbuds XL wireless headphones are available in black and green and sell for 250 euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 1893 yuan) / 220 pounds (currently about 1912 yuan). The retail package does not include a charger or even a charging cord (any USB-C cable is supported).
