Jupiter and Saturn are vying for the planetary title of the number of moons in the solar system, CTOnews.com reported on May 13. Astronomers gave Jupiter a brief title after discovering 12 new moons in February this year, and now they have found 62 new moons around Saturn.

According to the report, CTOnews.com attached the current statistics as follows: Jupiter currently has 92 moons, and Saturn has 145 moons after this new discovery, 53 more than Jupiter.

Led by Dr. Dr. Ashton, the team used a new technology called shift and stack to find dimmer satellites. Of course, the satellite found this time has yet to be verified.
