According to the latest announcement on Bamuda's website today (May 12), the company has decided to end its mobile phone business and the BALMUDA Phone and related accessories will continue to be available for purchase.

Bamuda officials said: "We believe that the many discoveries and knowledge gained in the development of mobile phones will bring new value to the products we provide in the future. Bamuda will continue to actively carry out research and development related to Internet technology."

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, the BALMUDA Phone is a small and cute phone with a 4.9in 1080p screen and a 2500mAh battery that can be recharged via USB-C or wireless, imitating the pebble texture of Palm Pre in shape, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor, 6GB + 128GB storage and a price of 104800 yen (currently about 5418 yuan).

However, six months after its launch, the phone has 44800 yen (currently about 2316 yuan) on sale in Japan, more than half the selling price and a six-month warranty, according to AKIBA PC Hotline.
