CTOnews.com May 11 news, memory manufacturers introduced a single 48GB desktop memory stick in the first quarter of this year, and four memory slots are full to achieve the memory capacity of 192GB.

According to NoteBookCheck, notebook DDR5 memory is also about to usher in a single 48GB model, for most notebooks with only two memory slots, you can have 96GB memory when plugged in.

Foreign media said that Lenovo recently launched a new P-series ThinkPad workstation, and the maximum memory expansion of the ThinkPad P16v model is 96 GB.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, such 48GB memory sticks use the latest 24Gb DRAM chip, rather than the current standard 16Gb module. If 20 24Gb DRAM chips are installed on DIMM, the available memory of 48GB can be obtained after considering the capacity of ECC and metadata.

It is expected that more notebooks will support 48GB single memory in the near future.
