CTOnews.com, May 12, according to the latest list released by the US Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has applied for an MacBook notebook with touch.

According to the patent description, the laptop not only has a touch screen, but also achieves tactile feedback in the palmrest area and the trackpad position.

Apple has been officially opposed to integrating touch elements into MacBook notebooks, but that doesn't prevent the company from applying for relevant technology patents, and it's not clear whether Apple will launch touch laptops in the future.

CTOnews.com learned from the patent that Apple believes that current electronic devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones usually notify users of different events in different ways.

This includes playing sound, providing tactile output (such as vibration), displaying visual notifications, and so on. The tactile output can be provided by an actuator using a vibrating motor or an oscillating motor.

But these vibrating motors usually vibrate the entire electronic device and are unable to provide local tactile output. In addition, traditional vibrating motors are often bulky and take up a lot of space.

Apple wants to set up small-scale touch modules, which will be distributed in the screen substrate, touch pad, palmrest and other areas, according to different areas of touch to achieve flexible touch.
