CTOnews.com, May 11 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- the Human Pan Genome reference Union (Human Pangenome Reference Consortium) recently released the Human Pan Genome (pangenome) map, which integrates the complete DNA of 47 ancestral individuals and depicts as many human DNA sequences as possible.

The researchers say it took a decade to map the human pan-genome (pangenome), followed by the addition of the full DNA of another 300 people, and the entire view of the genome will be further expanded.

Compared with the GRCh38 standard, which is currently widely used in the industry, the human pan-genome has added 119 million base pairs (two complementary pairs of bases in the DNA double helix) and 1115 gene duplications, and the number of genes with structural mutations detected has increased by 104%.
