In April this year, China's automobile production and sales reached 213.3 million and 2.159 million respectively, down 17.5% and 11.9% respectively from the previous month, and an increase of 76.8% and 82.7% respectively over the same period last year. From January to April this year, China's automobile production and sales completed 835.5 and 8.235 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 8.6 per cent and 7.1 per cent respectively over the same period last year.

According to the China Automobile Association, in April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 640,000 and 636000 respectively, an increase of 1.1 times over the same period last year, with a market share of 29.5%. From January to April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 229.1 million and 2.222 million respectively, an increase of 42.8 percent over the same period last year, with a market share of 27 percent.

In April this year, China's automobile enterprises exported 376000 vehicles, an increase of 3.3 percent over the previous month and a 1.7-fold increase over the same period last year. Of these, 316000 passenger vehicles were exported in April, up 3.7 percent from the previous month, up 2.2 times over the same period last year; and 60,000 commercial vehicles were exported, up 1.2 percent from the previous month and 41.6 percent from the same period last year. The export of new energy vehicles was 100000, an increase of 28.6 percent over the previous month and an 8.4-fold increase over the same period last year. From January to April, automobile enterprises exported 1.37 million vehicles, an increase of 89.2% over the same period last year.

The China Automobile Association pointed out: in April, among the top 10 vehicle exports, SAIC exported 82000 vehicles, an increase of 1.6 times over the same period last year, accounting for 21.7% of the total export volume. Compared with the same period last year, BYD's export growth was the most significant, with exports reaching 15000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 15.5 times. From January to April, among the top 10 vehicle exports, in terms of growth, BYD exported 58000 vehicles, up 13.4 times year-on-year; Chery exported 244000 vehicles, up 1.9 times year-on-year; and Great Wall exported 74000 vehicles, up 99.1% from the same period last year.

In terms of vehicle models, the export of passenger vehicles was 1.142 million, an increase of 1.1 times over the same period last year, and the export of commercial vehicles was 228000, an increase of 31.5% over the same period last year. The export of new energy vehicles was 348000, an increase of 1.7 times over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com noted that the China Automobile Association also released the latest data on power battery loading in China. Data show that the number of power batteries installed in China reached 25.1GWh in April, an increase of 89.4 percent over the same period last year and a decrease of 9.5 percent from the previous month.

Among them, ternary battery 8.0GWh, accounting for 31.8% of the total installed capacity, up 83.5% from the same period last year, down 8.3% from the previous year; iron phosphate battery 17.1GWh, accounting for 68.1% of the total installed capacity, up 92.7% from the same period last year, down 10.0% from the previous year. From January to April, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 91.0GWh, which increased by 41.0% compared with the same period last year.

The China Automobile Association pointed out that at present, the downward pressure on China's economy continues to increase, the economic operation is mainly showing a restorative improvement, the demand is still insufficient, the operating pressure of enterprises is generally on the high side, and the international situation is complex and changeable. the task of stabilizing the growth of the automobile industry is still heavy, and effective policies to stabilize and expand automobile consumption are needed to continue to boost it, so as to promote the release of the potential of automobile consumption and promote the stable operation of the automobile industry.
