CTOnews.com, May 11 (Xinhua)-- Google launched the GameFace project at the I / O 2023 developer Conference held early this morning, which allows players to control PC game characters through changes in facial expressions.

The project began with Lance Carr, a PC player from Colorado, who suffers from a rare muscular dystrophy and is unable to move his body, but this does not hinder his love of the game.

Carr's house was destroyed in a fire, destroying the adaptive accessories he needed to play PC games. To that end, a Google team worked with Carr to develop software called Project GameFace, which controls PC accessories through facial expressions to control game characters.

Google has already opened up the project, and the relevant code has been uploaded to GitHub, which can be downloaded and experienced by interested CTOnews.com users.
